Ferritic Stainless Steel

Ferritic SS

Ferritic stainless steels include the 400-series alloys, their composition includes 10-20% chromium with low carbon content.

They have excellent ductility known for resistance to general as well as stress corrosion cracking. They are magnetic in nature. They are available in superior designs and fine surface finishes. They have commendable engineering properties and are generally less expensive than their counterparts in other series. The required design form of the grade is machined and made available. Ferritic grades have great strength and are extensively used in applications where thinner sections and lesser weights are required. Their common applications include automotive exhaust systems, furnace equipment, food equipment, etc.
